Brunel is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer to support a major mining Client in Arizona. This position will play a key role in maintaining safe work practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational teams across site activities.
The successful candidate will oversee Health & Safety programs, conduct field inspections and investigations, support audits, and help drive continuous improvement across the site's Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) complies with Client standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct audits of processes, facilities, and work areas to identify safety risks and ensure compliance.
- Support production and maintenance teams by providing Health & Safety guidance during planning activities.
- Lead hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and corrective action processes.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and recommend preventative measures.
- Manage Health & Safety projects and initiatives across site operations.
- Coordinate and manage MSHA, OSHA, and State Mine Inspector visits.
- Address potential violations and ensure all required documentation is completed correctly.
- Inspect field activities and ensure safe work practices are being followed.
- Apply knowledge of safety regulations, policies, and procedures to support safe production operations.
- Present Health & Safety information to employees, supervisors, and management teams.
- Respond to Health & Safety concerns from employees and stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- High School Diploma or GED + 7 years of Health & Safety experience
- Associate's Degree + 5 years of Health & Safety experience
- Bachelor's Degree + 3 years of Health & Safety experience
- Master's Degree + 1 year of Health & Safety experience
Additional experience leading personnel, projects, or site safety initiatives is strongly preferred.
