Brunel Australasia are currently recruiting for a Pipeline Surveillance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global Oil & Gas industry leader, working from their operations near Hastings, Victoria.

The Pipeline Surveillance Officer will provide daily surveillance of pipeline easements and valve sites including actioning any scheduled maintenance and supervising third party contractors where necessary. Management of Dial Before You Dig requests along specified section of pipeline. Liaising with landowners and councils where necessary.

  • Responsible to implement on daily work objectives, housekeeping, safety, health, environmental and security
  • Active participation on daily toolbox meetings and regular, reported safety meetings
  • Identify and implement corrective and optimization actions by the continuous surveillance of pipelines and equipment to ensure reliable, efficient and safe operational conditions
  • Function as Instrument and Electrical Technician and routinely use skills in performing simple maintenance activities
  • Liaise with landowners and have an accurate understanding of any issues that may arise
  • Liaising with councils regarding any works that need to be undertaken on pipeline easement
  • Respond when gate alarms or leak detection system is activated
  • Coordinate, control and monitor maintenance jobs including management of contractors on site under specific procedures and work permits
  • Active participation on emergency response activities and exercises
  • Report incidents internally and escalate awareness as per the Incident Reporting Guidelines
  • Ensure that Surveillance Supervisor is informed and consulted about surveillance activities
  • Ensure good communication across the work team so that issues / actions can be adequately addressed
  • Accurate use of Esso ArcGIS Survey123 for Pipeline patrol reporting
  • Respond to Dial Before You Dig requests in a timely manner
  • Understanding of and actively using Pipeline Procedures in daily role
  • Assist Pipeline Surveillance Supervisor in gathering data for reporting to regulators
  • Required to be rostered on for emergency call outs including weekends, approx. 1 weekend per month
  • Adhoc requirement to stay overnight for business purposes
  • Regular communication with other Pipeline Surveillance Officers

Requirements

  • Instrument and Electrical qualifications preferred
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written)
  • High standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others
  • Knowledge and/or experience of pipeline operations preferred
  • Hold a valid Australian Driver's Licence
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in schedule
