About this role: Senior Planning Engineer
The job holder is responsible for all the scheduling, planning, progress measurement and reporting activities of the assigned Projects. The role will hold but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
- Ensure all planning requirements put in place by the contractor shall be in line with overall Project objectives and comply with COMPANY specifications.
- Maintaining schedules at the Project level, with critical path analysis and potential clashes and proposal of remedial actions/solutions.
- Identify potential delays, analyze and issue proposed corrective actions as required.
- Provide planning and scheduling input for cost forecasting, for reporting purposes together with analysis of reasons for any shortfall, potential bottlenecks, mitigating actions etc., as well as for periodic presentations to all parties involved.
- Ensuring availability at all times of an updated and accurate scheduling and progress measurement documentation.
- Promote & comply with applicable safety instruction and other Company HSE procedures in all activities.
- Carry out work in compliance with Company values and policies, relevant laws and regulations.
- Company priorities and objectives, Company standards and procedures and good industry practices
- Treat all information obtained during the work with confidentiality.
- To review and comment on contractors' procedures and schedules, scheduling, and progress control methodology, and to monitor contractors' execution schedule, especially for shutdown works and offshore campaigns. Any potential delays to be identified promptly to the Package Leads and corrective measures proposed.
- To timely report to the Lead Planning & Risk Engineer and Package Leads, highlighting progress and encountered areas of concern.
- To provide inputs for the package's reports to the Reporting Coordinator as necessary.
- To carry out any other duties or tasks that hierarchical superiors may assign.
- To develop, implement, and maintain procedures, means, and tools to ensure the efficient organization and operation of the scheduling, progress control, risk, and reporting activities.
- To define, update as necessary a suitable Work Breakdown Structure complying with Project needs in terms of progress control, cost control and reporting for all phases of the Project.
- To develop, update and revise the overall integrated Project Schedules as required by Project Management, develop interface planning for SIMOPS activities, provide inputs for IOP planning and provide analyses and simulations of new schedules also as needed.
- To define and update a suitable Report structure complying with Company and Project needs as necessary.
- Coordinate and maintain the Primavera database for Major Projects and focal for Primavera subjects.
- Develop and update the offshore brownfield and greenfield scope schedules and effectively administer the offshore scheduling, planning, and reporting systems for assigned Projects.
- Follow-up on interface planning items and prepare suitable planning to determine the timely delivery of critical interfaces.
- Take ownership of the integrated schedule and consolidated progress reporting for assigned projects.
- Work closely with Internal, Contractor Planning teams to ensure Planning and reporting objectives have aligned with overall Project and Company requirements; where required, take the initiative, and collaborate with teams to meet/achieve the outlined goals
Requirements
- Extensive (15 years) planning experience in Project Planning for EPIC projects.
- Experience in Oil and Gas operating companies is preferable.
- Depth knowledge in Planning methods, techniques and be the ability to perform independent planning reviews and forecasts.
- Competence in Primavera 6.0 and MS Office Project.
- Advanced level competence in using MS Office applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good communication skills and fluency in English.
- The incumbent shall be able to work independently with minimum guidance.
- The successful candidate shall be flexible to move to the CTR location for Project execution.
- Strong experience in preparing reports, analyses and organizing, leading internal/external stakeholder planning and other workshops.
