Brunel have partnered with a National builder who is a longstanding operator in the market completing projects up to $400m+. They are experiencing an incredibly successful period in Brisbane with some iconic projects coming up in 2024 and beyond.

They are looking for a Full Time, Permanent Safety Advisor with the initial project being a New Build commercial construction valued $150m+ on the Southern side of Brisbane.

This is an important project to deliver for the Queensland community and a chance to work for a builder that will skyrocket your career growth potential both internally and externally.

You'll be joining a well established team with a trusted leader and years of experience delivering projects of a similar scale.

About this role


Our client have been operating in this industry for years with highly effective processes / procedures in place and a heavy emphasis on safety. As a Safety Advisor, you will work to ensure safety is maintained to a high standard on site:

  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Developing and implementing safety plans tailored to different projects.
  • Conducting regular site audits to identify and mitigate safety hazards, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Having a strong influence on and being able to manage a diverse range of people.
  • Leading safety meetings to foster a culture of safety awareness, discuss concerns, and reinforce safety protocols.
  • Investigating accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, and providing recommendations to prevent future incidents.
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, training sessions, and safety-related communication.


  • Minimum Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent (required).
  • 5+ years experience in safety Advisory within the commercial construction industry (required).
  • Experience working with the QLD union (or equivalent).
  • Experience on projects worth $50m+.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop effective safety strategies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
