About this role: Pipeline Integrity Engineer

  • Brunel Oil and Gas Services WLL is organizing a campaign in Indonesia in Q4 2023 for a major client in Qatar. We will be conducting face-to-face interviews with the shortlisted candidates who are available in Indonesia.
  • Candidates who are in nearby countries (Singapore, China, Vietnam, Thailand) and are able to attend the campaign are welcome to apply. This is for a 3-year contract on a Direct-Hire Status and is renewable.

  • Implement Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) to ensure the integrity of Company pipelines. Provide technical solutions and recommendations to ensure safe and reliable operation. Support in developing company inspection policies, procedures, practices for optimized and consistent application.
  • Develop and streamline PIMS plans with gas production plans (UGP). Manages complex discipline specific and multi-discipline related problems and issues particularly in relation to subsea pipelines. Work requires analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking, with a significant degree of evaluative judgement.
  • Works independently within agreed work practices and contributes to improve and streamline business processes.
  • Develop work methods from several alternative options in accordance with established pipeline integrity management programs, procedures and professional standards including planning, execution and results assessment concluding pipeline risk assessment and recommendations to extend the remaining life of pipelines. Work is subject to review and direction by Lead Pipeline Integrity Engineer. Provides comprehensive technical support requiring multi skills for various engineering studies such as RCFAs, FAs and external studies involving consultants.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to the Company PIMS (Pipeline Integrity Management System). Such documentation shall include the inspection scopes, inspection reports, anomaly databases, PIMS KPI reports, Annual Summary Integrity Reports etc.
  • Performs semi quantitative risk assessment of the integrity of the Company pipeline assets based on updated inspection data in order to develop draft integrity management plans.
  • Prepares and maintains long term subsea inspection plans based on Company approved. Inspection strategy to ensure the integrity of the pipeline. Prepares scope of work for subsea pipeline inspections including ROV surveys, CP surveys and Acoustic surveys. Plans and executes subsea inspection campaigns based on approved plans.
  • Ensures annual pigging plans are in place and approved at the appropriate levels. Prepares and maintains long term intelligent pigging plans based on Company approved inspection strategy. Plans and executes intelligent pigging campaigns based on approved inspection plans.
  • Reviews contractor inspection reports (subsea inspections, in line inspections, etc.) and summarizes report for review by Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer. Assess all reported anomalies and propose corrective actions and recommendations based on findings in the inspection reports.
  • Support in the contracting process (scope of work, contract value estimation, PR, etc.) for pipeline integrity related contracts and supports Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer in the overall tendering process. Prepare draft contractor performance certificates for approval by line management.
  • Provide annual budgets input to Senior Engineer/Lead Engineer.
  • Supports all activities related to audit of the pipeline systems- both internal and external audits

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or Science
  • 4 years of relevant experience in subsea pipeline integrity management in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills).
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable in relevant software tools and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of support vessels, ROV, diving and pigging and preferably familiar with
  • tendering preparation and technical and commercial evaluation. Experience in pipeline risk assessment & mitigation, fitness for service, feature assessment, using international standards (ASME, API, NACE and DNV).
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection, NDT techniques, failure analysis, including corrective action.
  • Experience in use of asset management tools, and inspection data management systems, data management systems, (preferably GIS and Pvi software's).
  • Previous experience working with a pipeline operator.
