As a Commissioning Electrician, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation and activation of complex electrical systems with a Tier one client in the Pilbara.

As a Commissioning Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile equipment in the Pilbara. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of mobile equipment, working with specialised electrical systems and collaborating with a dedicated team.We offer competitive compensation, In addition to a competitive salary, we provide a rolling roster for the duration of this project.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team responsible for completing various stages of commissioning as equipment is released from construction, with the goal of achieving full nameplate production for handover to the site operations team
  • Prioritize safety and efficiency in commissioning large-scale complex process plants and associated industrial electrical equipment
  • Conduct electrical and instrument commissioning tasks, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards
  • Utilize digital check sheets to document and track commissioning activities and progress
  • Collaborate closely with Control Engineers to ensure equipment is safe and ready for operation
  • Demonstrate expertise in Instrumentation, High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), motors, PLC/Control systems, and possess a good understanding of electrical drawings
  • Possess desirable experience in High Voltage (HV) switching, though not essential
  • Troubleshoot electrical and instrument-related issues and implement solutions
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety guidelines, protocols, and industry best practices throughout the commissioning process
  • Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate commissioning efforts
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to commissioning activities and outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements during the commissioning phase
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and knowledge-sharing among team members

Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of commissioning experience in large-scale process plants and industrial electrical equipment
  • Electrical Trade Certification
  • WA Electrical Licence unrestricted electrical workers licence, demonstrating your expertise in electrical systems
  • LVR/ CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Full Manual Drivers Licence (minimum)
  • Familiarity with digital check sheets for commissioning preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, HV/LV VSDs, motors, PLC/Control systems, and instrumentation
  • Basic understanding of electrical drawings
  • Safety-conscious with the ability to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability for troubleshooting and process improvement
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and schedules
