About this role: Drilling Operations Engineer
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking for a Drilling Operations Engineer. This role will provide engineering and technical administrative support to the Senior and Night Drilling Supervisors throughout the stages of a well construction.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Health & Safety
- Proactively promote a culture of safe and reliable operations on the drilling facility with leading demonstration of safety leadership.
- Consistent demonstration of client Drilling Behaviours and Company Values
- Attend HSE well site meetings.
Technical Expertise
- Drilling, Completions and Well Testing Basic Knowledge of:
- Casing and conductor design
- Casing seat selection
- Emergency planning – safety and environment
- Fluids engineering
- Management of Change (Well Operations)
- Mooring design
- Well barrier design
- Well control
- Well Integrity Management
- Wellbore position and collision avoidance
- Well site supervision (Drilling)
Strategic Planning
- Assist with the planning, coordination and direction of safe and efficient well construction activities on the drilling facility and within the field
- Actively participate in SID reviews, After Action Reviews and After Operation Reviews and other continuous improvement opportunities, to maximise learning curve, reduce risk of repeat of undesirable outcomes (HSE and NPT), and maximise realization of efficiencies including parallel auxiliary / main drill floor activities
- Proactively work with Operations Team and Engineering Team to identify, assess and implement performance optimisation opportunities including for dual activity operations.
Compliance (Drilling and Completion Requirements)
- Prepare the Daily Drilling Report.
- Prepare performance reports such as casing/liner tallies, cement reports, bit reports, FIT/LOT reports.
- Maintain drilling and completions end of well documentation (cement summary, WellPlan input summary, Ichthy’s downhole trouble and as-run bit summary).
- Prepare, document and ensure compliance of Well Acceptance Criteria (WAC).
- Manage client operations corrective action management system – Lessons Learnt Tracker.
Team Work
- Work closely with the Senior/Night Drilling Supervisors to:
- Assist with the management of client service providers located offshore.
- Support with operational and administrative tasks as required to ensure technical and safety integrity of the wells being drilled.
- Liaise with logistics and RE’s to:
- Maintain the Drilling Consumption List and provide support to the SAP inventory management.
Requirements
- Bachelors level Engineering degree (Reservoir, Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, etc)
- Current TBOSIET and CA-EBS
- High level of interpersonal and communications skills
- Proven teamwork skills
