Introduction
We are seeking a Master Data Analyst for our client based in Corunna, Ontario, Calgary, AB or Red Deer, Alberta within the Procurement Technology Team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Procurement Technology, you will be responsible and accountable for all activities related to master data including materials, contracts, finished goods, and semi-finished goods to support the business aligned to master data standards and data governance. This role will be accountable for developing reporting, and issue resolution as well as supporting all aspects and connection to master data. This is a 7-month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Execute master data creation and maintenance pertaining to multiple master data objects in SAP S4/ Hana, Ariba and other Procurement Technologies which includes but not limited to Materials Master, Vendor Master/Business Partners
  • Manage and prioritize data requests and data governance activities to meet business and project requirements
  • Understand and comply with all applicable data standards and business rules
  • Instrumental in determination, update and/or alignment to the classification structure / taxonomy for master data and future classification requirements
  • Understand the various data flags and components of each master data object and how it relates both upstream and downstream SAP/Ariba processes and transactions
  • Understand and eliminate risk impacts of changes within the master data across all SAP/Ariba domains to ensure the integrity of the master data
  • Collaborate with geographically dispersed cross-functional business teams for input into the various data governance activities and deliverables
  • Provide support related to Master Data
  • Support the Strategic Sourcing team to develop and maintain pricing agreements in SAP S4/Hana and ARIBA
  • Ensure master data is in compliance with data governance policy at point of creation and through regular monitoring and cleansing of existing master data
  • Incorporate Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability as well as Production requirements into creation of master data
  • Creation and or maintenance of internal procedures
  • Provide support of mass upload requests of master data

  • College Diploma in Business or Information Technology along with 1-3 years related experience OR 3-5 years combination of post-secondary education and related experience
  • Knowledge and application of SAP S4/Hana with a good understanding of relevant master data domains in scope and their impact on other modules, business processes, and system configuration
  • Good understanding of data management (governance, data quality measurement and management, security, metadata, integration)
  • Technical background (mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, materials management, etc.) or ability to interact in a technical environment is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and or operationalizing data-based guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple tasks, time and competing priorities to effectively complete tasks under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to clearly articulate business requirements to technical and able to explain data, technology, and project terms in a clear and simple way to a range of stakeholders and business users
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders through well-prepared communication
  • Team player who collaborates well in a team environment, manages conflict, supports team success, and contributes to a positive team dynamic
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external business partners
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and MS Office suite to organize data to create insightful reports.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain focus on a repetitive task for a long duration
  • Able to perform in a rigorous, fast paced, and high-volume environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount
