We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Machinist to join a well-established engineering and maintenance team based in Wacol. Working within a skilled workshop team, you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul, machining and testing of traction motors, alternators and associated electro-mechanical equipment.
Key duties include:
- Repairing and overhauling rotating equipment and electric motors
- Machining, fitting and assembly work
- Conducting testing and fault finding activities
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Completing workshop documentation and service reports
- Maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (Cert III Engineering - Mechanical or similar)
- Experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing or rotating equipment environments
- Forklift and crane tickets
- Experience with electric motors, generators or rotating equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
