On behalf of our client, a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently seeking Cost Controller to support the delivery of major capital programs across a dynamic resources environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring robust financial control, accurate forecasting and data-driven decision-making across the full project lifecycle. This will be a 12 month contract located in the Brisbane CBD.
You will work closely with project and operational stakeholders to drive cost performance, improve forecasting accuracy and strengthen project governance.
- Support capital budget development and ongoing budget management
- Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts at program and project level
- Provide insightful reporting on performance, risks and opportunities
- Monitor cost and schedule performance, including variance analysis
- Maintain and enhance cost control processes (EAC, ETC, earned value)
- Partner with stakeholders to drive performance and informed decision-making
- Support change management, risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with governance, financial controls and approval frameworks
- Analyse trends and performance data to improve capital accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Engineering or similar
- Formal Project Management qualification is desirable, but not essential
- Previous experience in Cost Control / Project Controls
- Background in Oil & Gas, Mining or Major Resources Projects
- Proven experience managing budgets exceeding $25M annually
- Strong analytical capability with experience handling complex data sets
- Proficient in Power BI (or similar visualisation tools) and MS Office Suite
- Experience with SAP, PRISM or similar project systems will be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Team-oriented with a high level of attention to detail
