A leading provider of electrical engineering, testing, and commissioning services is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to support high-voltage substation projects. This role will perform electrical testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities while also serving as a crew lead responsible for coordinating field teams and maintaining safe work practices on project sites.
This is a hands-on technical role suited to professionals with strong experience in substation testing, commissioning, relay testing, and electrical power systems.
The Senior Technician will perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and start-up activities on high-voltage substations and associated electrical equipment. The role will also lead field crews, coordinate work with project teams, and serve as a point of contact on job sites.

Perform electrical testing and commissioning on substations, switchgear, and power apparatus

Power system metering equipment and transducers

Power cables

Grounding systems
-
Motors and motor starters

Station batteries and chargers

Alarm systems and annunciators

Electrical safety equipment

Lead field crews and coordinate site activities

Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis

Provide recommendations for corrective actions and repairs

Prepare technical reports documenting testing activities and findings

Communicate with project management regarding project progress, manpower, and equipment needs

Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and industry standards
-
Conduct safety meetings and job safety analyses
-
Represent the organization professionally when interacting with clients and project stakeholders

High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred

10+ years of experience performing electrical testing, commissioning, or maintenance on high-voltage substations

Ability to work safely in high-voltage substations and industrial facilities

Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Ability to obtain a TWIC card

Ability to travel up to 50%
