Brunel is supporting a leading mining company in hiring an experienced Project Portfolio Planning / Scheduling Manager to oversee planning activities across a large portfolio of capital projects. This is a senior-level role within the Project Controls team, supporting major industrial and mining projects.
- Lead planning and scheduling activities across multiple capital projects
- Manage and review project schedules using Primavera P6
- Ensure schedules follow company standards and project procedures
- Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation plans
- Support project execution strategies and overall project delivery
- Provide schedule analysis, reporting, and performance updates to leadership
- Mentor and lead a team of planners and schedulers
- Support hiring and development of planning resources
- Maintain Primavera P6 systems, data integrity, and reporting structures
- Work closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams
Key Responsibilities
- Review and maintain baseline schedules and version control
- Analyze project delays, risks, and scheduling issues
- Develop solutions to improve project performance
- Communicate project updates and risks to senior leadership
- Ensure consistency across portfolio planning processes
- Support long-term project planning and strategic scheduling initiatives
- Expert knowledge of Primavera P6
- Experience managing multiple large projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions
Preferred Experience
- Mining or heavy industrial projects
- Large-scale capital or mega projects
- Experience with additional scheduling tools such as MS Projects
