A leading tier one mining business is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to support a major sustaining capital portfolio. This role suits a commercially astute professional with strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and project contracts experience across EIC procurement, construction and supplier packages.
Working within a high-performing procurement and contracts function, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering EIC construction and procurement strategies across a portfolio of business-critical sustaining capital projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing sourcing and tendering strategies for EIC construction, supply and consultancy packages
- Supporting program development under a new Master Construction Agreement framework
- Preparing, negotiating and implementing contracts, panel agreements, call-off statements of work and standalone packages
- Preparing recommendations to award based on tender evaluations, schedule analysis, commercial competitiveness and strategic supplier considerations
- Drafting, negotiating and conforming Statements of Work, including special conditions and contractual departures
- Managing contract compliance, claims assessments, dispute resolution and commercial risk
- Identifying and escalating material contractual issues to senior stakeholders or legal counsel where required
- Managing portfolio pipeline activity and supplier relationship management with contracted partners
- Collaborating with broader procurement, project and commercial teams to drive value and improve outcomes across the business
You will be an experienced contracts and procurement professional with a strong background in construction, mining, infrastructure or major capital projects.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Proven experience in contracts and procurement within large-scale construction, mining, infrastructure or major capital projects
- Strong understanding of contract law, commercial risk management and negotiation strategies
- Experience in tendering, evaluation, contract drafting and negotiation
- Demonstrated capability in claims management and achieving effective commercial outcomes
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
- Tertiary qualifications in law, procurement, supply chain, business or a related field
- Experience supporting construction projects in the Pilbara will be highly regarded
